Before you submit

This is a request for public records under the Colorado Open Records Act (C.R.S. § 24-72-201 et seq.).

We respond within three working days — up to ten if the request is broad or voluminous. The first hour of staff time is free; after that, research and retrieval is $41.37 per hour and copies are $0.25 per standard page. If there is a charge we will send an estimate first, and payment is due before records are released. Fees may be reduced or waived for journalism, nonprofit, academic or public-agency use.

Some records must be withheld or redacted by law. If that applies we will tell you, and on request we will put the grounds in writing.

Broad or voluminous requests received within 20 days of an election are not processed until 20 days after the election, or until results are certified, whichever comes first.
